What do the French expect from their stores in 2024?

Every month, our partner OpinionWay asks French people flash questions on a topical issue.
For this sixteenth edition of Les Jeudis de La Retail Tech, we wanted to poll them to find out their priority expectations of stores in terms of purchasing power.

Here are the main findings of this study.

  • 53% of French people believe their purchasing power will decline this year
  • Their priority expectations in terms of purchasing power :
    • More promotions (51%)
    • More rewards for loyalty (45%)
    • More clearance products, such as short-dated or discontinued products (33%)
  • Their main expectations apart from purchasing power:
    • Less waiting at the checkout (37%)
    • Fewer out-of-stock products on the shelves (30%)
